It was so hot that walking was a bit of a chore this week. I forced myself to "take the long way home" on Friday, because it was my last "free" Friday before the semester started. I took a picture of these flowers that were outside a church along the main street here: High St. before heading into Starbucks to grab a cool drink for the rest of the walk to Kroger and then home.

I took this at one of our favorite breakfast places: Roma's in Marshall, MI. It is especially nice in summer when one can sit outside under these flowers. Sometimes a friendly black cat comes to visit. And the food is pretty good too. We had come to Marshall for a yearly check-up of mine, which I ended up re-scheduling for insurance reasons.

I had to mail something and walked up to the Albion College student center, which has a post office. On the way I took a picture of these tulips that are in Albion's colors of purple and "gold"/yellow.
